#Urbana Natura in_hancing_The_Augmented

#Urbana Natura in_hancing_The_Augmented & vice versa is an augmented audio-visual installation, an “Out of Nature into Urban Augmented Space & Back again” exhibition.

The ensemble of nature, urban and augmented spaces shows the already existing deep interweaving of these seemingly independent levels and forms of life.

The augmented installation is created with various materials in the real exhibition space of the Hofkabinett Gallery. Patterns have been essential in the digital STATION ROSE (STR) image and sound language since 1988. Patterns from 1988-2019 are used in U >< N<>I<<<T>> A. Nature also appears as patterns, urban plants are fed into the microscope by Elisa Rose. Nature has long played an important role and its integration into urban space is extremely necessary. STR has coined the terms “Digital Land Art,” “Urban Digital Land Art” and “Nature Is Cool/ NiC.” Gary Danner’s electronic music reflects his decades of involvement with subcultural and serious music.

The virtual augmentation (Artivive App) creates another space – U >< N<>I<<T>> A.

The pioneers of digital culture are media artist Elisa Rose & composer Gary Danner, born in Linz. STATION ROSE, the first public digital art space in Vienna, opened in 1988 and initiated the 4th district’s evolution into an art hotspot. They lived in Cairo during a postgraduate grant for 8 months 88/89, coming back with the legendary Gunafa Show to Ars Electronica in 1989. STR went online in 1991, made numerous net art projects, STReams, audio-visual performances & exhibitions worldwide. Their first immersive audiovisual installation goes back to 1991. They won the Prix Ars Electronica 1995 & the lifetime award of the City of Linz in 2012. From 1991-2011 they lived abroad & worked in Frankfurt, San Francisco & Cyberspace, coming back to Vienna in 2011. In 2018 they reached 30 Digital Years. 2018 the catalog *STATION ROSE 30.0* with Augmented Reality (Artivive app) was published by De Gruyter/edition angewandte. They have included augmented reality in their art since 2017. In 2019 the vinyl box incl. AR “STATION ROSE Liquid Walls of Sound” was released, which is approximately their 40th publication. Right now they are working on their VR project “Gunafa Land.”
