Sarah Ciston builds critical–creative tools to bring Intersectional approaches to machine learning. They were recently named a Gesellschaft für Informatik “AI Newcomer,” an Akademie der Künste Berlin AI Anarchies Fellow, and a Mellon PhD Fellow in Media Arts + Practice at the University of Southern California. Sarah is author of “A Critical Field Guide to Working with Machine Learning Datasets” and leads Code Collective: an approachable, interdisciplinary community for co-learning programming.
