SOS Landmarks for Future confronts us humans with the question of who will come to the aid of the ecosystem and thus our own future. The abbreviation SOS leaves room for interpretation: Save Our Souls? Save Our Species? Swap Our System? – What do we want to preserve or change?
During the opening hours of the Play the Facade again, visitors can express their desire for a greener society by connecting to the building via WiFi with their own smartphone and sending the SOS signal into the Linz night sky via the 40,000 LEDs on the facade, combined with their own message.
How it works
Your starting point for Play the Façade again is the terminal on the banks of the Danube, below the Ars Electronica Center
To start the web app, first connect to the associated WiFi and then open the facade website
Note: This link only works in the immediate vicinity of the Ars Electronica Center. You can control the animations around the Ars Electronica building. If you want to play music, stay at the terminal, because this is the Bluetooth access point. Click on “Music” in the web app, connect your phone to the Bluetooth of the facade and play your favorite music on any player!
