The University of Art and Design in Linz and Ars Electronica have had close ties for many years. As part of the "TIME OUT" exhibition series, for example, the Ars Electronica Center is making space available to young media artists studying "Time-based and Interactive Media" for their artworks. Concert: finale of the second act of Mozart's Magic Flute by Maki Namekawa and Dennis Russell Davies
Another concert highlight awaits you on this evening: Maki Namekawa and Dennis Russell Davies play the finale of the second act of Mozart's Magic Flute arranged for piano four hands by Alexander Zemlinsky. The concert is accompanied by Cori O'Lan's real-time visualizations. After the concert, you will again have the opportunity to get in touch with the artists! This tour focuses on the installation "MegaPixels" of our new "Understanding Artificial Intelligence" exhibition. "MegaPixels" is an independent art and research project that explores the origin and individual impact of image recognition data sets and the related ethics of privacy and its role in the expansion of biometric surveillance technologies. The project aims to provide a critical perspective on machine learning image data sets that might be overlooked by academic and industrially funded AI think tanks. Each dataset presented on this website will undergo a thorough review of its images, intentions and funding sources.

Press Conference: STARTS Prize
The prestigious STARTS Prize, which comes with a total of 40,000 euros in prize money, honours innovative projects at the interface of art, technology and science (Science, Technology and Arts - STARTS for short). Projects are sought and awarded that successfully rehearse the cooperation between science, technology and arts and have the potential to contribute to economic and social innovation. The competition is part of the STARTS initiative - Innovation at the Nexus of Science, Technology, and the ARTS of the European Commission. In this press conference we will reveal this year's winners.
