What are the differences between machines and human beings? And how will the future of humanity look like together with bots? Collaboration between humans and robotic systems increasingly relies on successful communication. Robotinity is an analogy for a new kind of humanity that changes together with its society, its technology and the characteristics of its creators.

What will Robotinity of this era look like? With Humanity & Robotinity, Hideaki Ogawa (Director in the Ars Electronica Futurelab) and Robot Psychologist Martina Mara (Head of LIT Robopsychology Lab, JKU), reflect on the ambivalent relationship between man and machine – an investigation at the beginning of the 21st century that characterizes one of the most significant stages in the history of mankind.

The origins, evolution and resolution of associated myths, utopias and dystopias are the subject of the fourth episode in the Ars Electronica Futurelab’s Anniversary series, which was produced on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.
