The Contemporary and Digital Art Fair is honored to present Anne Spalter and Sofia Crespo, two female artists working with AI technology. Spalter and Crespo explore current socio-economic issues, including COVID19 and ecological uncertainty, in their work. Both artists exhibited their work at CADAF Online, which took place June 25-28, 2020. Artificial Seascapes​ reflects on the impact humans and technology have on the environment and explores new ways to visualize it.

Biometric Mirror is an immersive and at times controversial installation that blends the act of casually glancing at one’s reflection with modern algorithmic perspectives on facial perfection. The artwork explores the accuracy and flaws of artificial intelligence and the ‘uncanny valley’ of algorithmic perfection and its potential black mirror outcomes.

“Non-Player Piano” sound performance

Non-Player Piano was created specifically for Ars Electronica Festival 2020. It will be performed on Moscow River in collaboration with Mubert AI App. The performance will include live music improvisations aided by an artificial neural network “trained” to analyze the surrounding environment, such as the weather, time of day, location, speed, and type of movement.

Walk through Belgrade with the authors of the pervasive game problematizing different aspects of AI. AI / VI is a pervasive game using a smartphone. A specially designed application with an AI ​​function that acts as a guide through the game, occasionally uniting the player and AI into a symbiotic metaorganism. The game has no pre-set routes or endings; the path that opens is gradually shaped by the players. The mapped points of the game open spaces between different institutions in Belgrade and problematize the role of AI in private and public life. The goal of the game is to put the players in a position to re-examine the current human and algorithmic ways of decision-making and their consequences in the near future.
