lovesmenot is part of an ongoing series of automata exploring our relationship with machines and the absurdity of over-automation. In this work, a machine plucks the petals of a daisy one by one, looking for answers to a question that will never be revealed to the observer. It hereby imitates a typically human action, a rite of sorts that usually attains its meaning solely through the human element. The machine does not serve anyone but itself, the answers obtained are never revealed.

Sound artwork that combines three installations located physically in the public space of Wrocław. One of them is the plane tree, which was featured as the central component of the installation E.D.E.N. by Olga Kisseleva displayed at the Four Domes Pavilion during the 18th Media Art Biennale WRO 2019 CZYNNIK LUDZKI|HUMAN ASPECT.
Still There

"Still There" is a video installation dealing with irritation as a state. Manipulated through Frame Blending, the computer transforms the images it has been given to generate new intermediate ones by itself.
Mechanical Garden after Tytus Czyżewski

Interactive installation inspired by visual poem Ogród Mechaniczny (Mechanical Garden”) by Tytus Czyżewski (1922) re-created in a contemporary medium (software). The work touches on issues of conditional arts, synthetic nature and the relation of art, nature and technology in general. Ogród Mechaniczny is a multiuser installation based on motion tracking, transforming the “frozen” image by Czyżewski into an amorphous, interactive and playable situation.
Derotation

“Derotation” is an installation about a looping video of a windmill shown on a screen rotating at the same speed in the opposite direction. The movement of a wind wheel, known for generating electricity, is visually stopped and derotated by the motion of a motor, known for consuming energy. Two different aims lead to a standstill: another instance of power wastage in media art?

Political Atmosphere

“Political Atmosphere” is an experiential installation amplifying the invisible connections between flight turbulence, climate change and war. It consists of a data-driven mechanical siren and an ADS-B antenna, which allows for receiving, processing and visualizing the surrounding flight traffic. Each flight slowly accelerates the latent build-up of potential until a threshold is passed and a mechanism releases the siren.

Performance Workshop: Enacting Innovation

Enacting Innovation is a participatory staging of the social fabric surrounding contemporary innovation practices. Participants will negotiate the roles and situations that are frequently encountered in innovation processes and act out conflicts with each other and the technical infrastructures typically employed within such contexts. The simulation is inspired by research on ‘innovation scripts’ – the recipes followed in dealing with the omnipresent pressure to prove innovative ability.
Oslofjord Ecologies Expedition

The Oslofjord Garden is a wet and blue video tour of the fjord, encompassing site-specific footage as well as artists’ contributions, archival material and conversations with artists and scientists. The artists in this exhibition work with blood and chlorophyll to investigate the connections between human and plant life. They use microbial cultures, robotic clams and sensors to demonstrate the contamination of the oceans; or apply AI algorithms so that something as innocent as a flower can visualize financial speculation. They also engage with the new icons, practices and virtual devices that define the increasingly polarized and radicalized scenarios of online social and cultural ecosystems.

Chronicles of an Art and Science Collaboration, Otaniemi-Espoo, Finland

The project highlights the use of autoethnographic narrative as tool for artistic and design research. It brings together self-reflections from three scientists who participated in an art and science collaboration dealing with the use of bio-cellulose for art and design purposes. Through their stories we learn about what inspired them to follow careers in science and how the making of a contribution to sustainability and the good of humankind sustains their work objectives.
