This year Ars Electronica in collaboration with LCM organizes a foresight technology Hackathon training which addresses challenges of the Agri-food industry to be faced by the world, global trends in specific sectors of the Agro industry, prospects for their development.

Chajnantor

Through the use of footage, courtesy of ALMA and ESO, filmmaker Elise Guillaume (BE) and artist Samuel Domínguez (CL) collaborated on a new video about the Chajnantor Plateau, where ALMA Observatory is located, in the Atacama Desert. The video uses the music created by Olaff Peña Pastene (CL/ES), using sounds recorded at the observatory and digital data.

We are presenting a web-learning platform that gathers more than 50 references about our contemporary understanding of landscape. At the behest of Fundación Mustakis, this project was co-curated by Diego Lara Koenig (CL), with Sergio Martín (ES), invited by ALMA Observatory. The live video, with digital modelling and animation by Ming Rang Bai, will be broadcast during the festival.

WHERE WE EMERGE is a pop-up exhibition in which students of the Art & Technology Studies department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago reflect on this change in our society.

experiments in free-drumming I is a performance of improvisational drumming motivated by digital sounds and visuals which are generated in real-time via a motion-capture suit. The performance engages the body as a sonic mediator between the physical and virtual spaces. The performer engages digital sound through hand motions and gestures, amplifying and softening frequencies while experimenting with various rhythmic sequences.

My Shoes, Your Walk

This video depicts a revisit of a soundwalk that provided me countless inspiration and solace during the past year. Recorded with contact microphones chiseled and wired in the soles of my shoes, the soundtrack brings us back to last autumn, whereas my camera dangles in the summer heat, and my mind wanders across time.
