Future Humanity Journey
Kyungjin Jeong (KR), Ali Nikrang (AT), Farah Salka (LB), Simon Weckert (DE)

Activating the Archive
W21: Valeria Facchin (UK/IT), Delanie Joy Linden (US) and Indrani Saha (US)

In order to generate new and inclusive narratives for the 21st century, we need to rethink the archival structures where data is stored. Using W21’s data-feminist mission as a starting point, this workshop will challenge the never-evolving nature of the archive and its fixed, discriminating taxonomy. Together, we will discuss: Who or what is presently un-archivable? How can we imagine cultural archives as living, legible, and accessible? What role can artificial intelligence play in restructuring archives to open new worlds?

Prix Forum: A Pandemic Didn’t Stop the Sound

Das Prix Forum – Digital Musics & Sound Art ist eine offene Diskussion zwischen den drei Preisträgern des Prix Ars Electronica 2021 und der Jury.

OCEANS IN TRANSFORMATION

We explore how Oceans in Transformation brings together a multiplicity of conceptualizations of the ocean. The ocean is a sensorium: it records the transformations of the Earth in its complex dynamics, and it inscribes back into the forms of life its own cycles. This workshop explores new ways to connect the multiple ways of knowing and studying the ocean as it is entering a new phase of its history—the Anthropocene.
