This video depicts a revisit of a soundwalk that provided me countless inspiration and solace during the past year. Recorded with contact microphones chiseled and wired in the soles of my shoes, the soundtrack brings us back to last autumn, whereas my camera dangles in the summer heat, and my mind wanders across time.

Sound of Taiwan: Today's creations become tomorrow's cultural assets! Diverse styles showcase Taiwanese creativity. The Sound of Taiwan concert was a world premiere of two locally made compositions: Gordon Chin’s Piano Concerto No.1 and Nan-Chang Chien’s Symphony No. 4. The two compositions were debuted with: conductors Günther Herbig and Wen-Pin Chien and performed by pianist Chia-Hui Lu along-side the NSO. The concert is a milestone achievement in the continued development of Taiwan culture.

CyberArts 2021: Digital Musics & Sound Art

In der Geschichte der Computerkunst ist Musik die älteste Kunstform. 1987 als Kategorie für Computermusik eingeführt, hat sich diese Kategorie der digitalen Entwicklung entsprechend gewandelt. Sie würdigt mittlerweile zeitgenössische digitale Klangproduktionen aus dem breiten Spektrum der elektronisch erzeugten Musik – Werke, die Klang, Medien und Musik kombinieren, digitale Kompositionen, die von elektro-akustisch bis experimentell reichen, sowie Klanginstallationen. In der Computermusik gibt es eine starke Tendenz zu immersiven Hörerlebnissen und Kompositionen, die Hörer:innen tief in imaginäre Landschaften und Soundscapes eintauchen lassen.

Synaesthetic Syntax: Sounding Animation / Visualising Audio

Das diesjährige Symposium Expanded Animation, das in Form einer Reihe von Online-Veranstaltungen stattfindet, setzt den Dialog über die Beziehungen zwischen den Sinnen, insbesondere den auditiven und visuellen, fort. Welches sind die Regeln, Prinzipien und Prozesse, die die Wechselbeziehungen zwischen Ton und Animation bestimmen? Wie können diese verkörperten Empfindungen in unserem Zeitalter der virtuellen Kommunikation, die durch COVID-19 intensiviert wird, erforscht, ausgepackt und neu zusammengesetzt werden?
