Als globale Autorität für Medienkunst und elektronische Musik arbeitet Ars Electronica seit 2017 gemeinsam mit TOKYO MIDTOWN an dem Projekt School of the Future. Im Rahmen des diesjährigen Ars Electronica Festivals 2021 – A New Digital Deal – findet eine spezielle Online-Talk-Session SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE –OPEN STUDIO– statt. Auf Einladung von Daito Manabe, Künstler und Jurymitglied des diesjährigen Prix Ars Electronica, diskutieren Mitglieder von Ars Electronica und TOKYO MIDTOWN über die Kulturtechnologie der Zukunft und blicken dabei auf die preisgekrönten Projekte dieses Jahres zurück.

Domestic Data Streamers (INT/ES)

In this workshop the creative team at Domestic Data Streamers will walk you through 8 invisible contemporary violences that have a great impact in our everyday lives. The team will talk about the conceptual research behind the project, how they’ve turned such complex information into an interactive exhibition and will end up with a live collective debate on meaningful questions around the topic.

Art and (invisible) technology: A closer look at Soft Evidence and On View

In both  Soft Evidence (2021) and On View (2019), Ania Catherine and Dejha Ti incorporate advanced technologies into immersive works that appear to be non-digital—even though they are the opposite. In this talk, the duo dive into their approach to using technology both conceptually and technically in their practice.

Initiated in 2020 by Sara Lisa Vogl, VR expert, artist and co-founder of Women in Immersive Tech Europe, and Goethe-Institut Montreal, these network meetings aim to highlight and virtually connect women and gender-marginalized people from Europe and North America working in the creative industries and around immersive technologies to create new international connections and foster potential cooperation.

Talking About Landscape in the 21st Century

We are presenting a web-learning platform that gathers more than 50 references about our contemporary understanding of landscape. At the behest of Fundación Mustakis, this project was co-curated by Diego Lara Koenig (CL), with Sergio Martín (ES), invited by ALMA Observatory. The live video, with digital modelling and animation by Ming Rang Bai, will be broadcast during the festival.

Nehmen Sie online an einem Gespräch mit Patrícia J. Reis teil, einer in Wien lebenden Installationskünstlerin, die in ihrer Arbeit verschiedene Formate und Medien einsetzt, um unsere Beziehung zur modernen Technologie zu untersuchen. In einer fortlaufenden Untersuchung, die die Grenzen zwischen Wissenschaft, Technologie, Magie und spirituellem Glauben destabilisiert, geht sie den Fragen "Wie glauben wir an Maschinen?" und "Wie formt uns die Technologie körperlich?" nach.
