Radio Cloud

Radio Cloud is an interactive light-sound-installation by Cao Thanh Lan and Gregor Siedl, which is based on a real-time and site-specific feedback circuit. „Radio cloud“ has an unbiased unfiltered „input“ from real-time FM frequencies on site, only limited by the range of the antenna and the characteristics of the exhibition space. Its input-media is also its output – light and sound. They are mutually dependent, they define, interact and influence each other. The reciprocality of the two energy forms drive things forwards.

Found Sound Discovery explores movement, time and sound. An installation that involves analogue and digital interactions with the world around us. Through sensors and found objects, mechanical and digital interactions create the possibility of discovered sound.

MA Fine Art Digital is a course that asks questions about what art is in a digital environment. Rather than focusing on specific technology, it allows students from incredibly diverse backgrounds to engage with significant issues through their art. BA Print & Time Based Media is a course that combines the traditional with the contemporary, bringing together print-making, photography, film, audio, writing, video and performance art. This exhibition is co-curated by artists and Program Directors Jonathan Kearney and Lois Rowe from UAL and will showcase work from areas they oversee.

APPARATUM

panGenerator (PL)

Digital interface meets purely analogue sound. The APPARATUM was inspired by the heritage of the Polish Radio Experimental Studio — one of the first studios in the world to produce electroacoustic music. The installation draws inspiration musically and graphically from the “Symphony – Electronic Music” composed by Bogusław Schaeffer. Here, analogue sound generators, based on magnetic tape and optical components, are controlled via a graphic score with a digital interface.
