Origin is an immersive installation that narrates the incredible cultural and scientific legacy of Ars Electronica. Using archival information from the past 40 years, this piece aims to tell the story not only the story of the institutions’ foresight and innovation but also use this history to visualize future trends and realities.

Cultural differences often lead to many misunderstandings. The installation deals with mixed cultural - misunderstanding phenomena and multiple-realities interpretations, opening a new world of contrasts and alternatives. In the boxes are videos with multiple meanings which could be easily (mis)interpreted differently based on different cultural backgrounds. Visitors are challenged to guess the meanings.
