“Smart Home – Sweet Home?” Touring exhibition

The digital home on the way through Salzburg

After a break due to the Corona pandemic, the traveling exhibition “Smart Home – Sweet Home?” of the AK Salzburg was once again made accessible to visitors. It started in Hallein on September 13th.

In the exhibition, visitors learn interactively about the advancing digitalization, which extends into their own four walls and clarifies the conveniences and possible potential dangers of the smart home.

The aim of the exhibition is to objectively illuminate the fascination associated with digitization, along with its possible downsides to provide a fact-based decision-making tool.

The new home office-installation addresses issues that have only become more prevalent as a result of lockdown situations. An unusual rotating furniture with innovative interaction possibility combines the analog with a digital interface. Short, animated stories tell of everyday situations in the home office and are designed to stimulate discussions on the spot. Topics such as the right equipment for the workplace at home, the insurance situation, but also the advantages of working from home were presented in an entertaining way.

In total, the exhibition will move to three more AK Salzburg locations by February 2022.
