Gentleman Scientist: Microecologies presents an alter ego developed by Jennifer Willet as an entertaining and gender fluid critique of the Western tradition of scientific rationality. He is a ringmaster, a time traveler, a buffoon, whose once white coat is filthy and has 8 snow globes filled with microorganisms attached. The scientist’s coat is presented in an installation format.

Dr. Jennifer Willet is an artist, a Canada Research Chair in Art, Science, and Ecology, a Professor in the School of Creative Arts at the University of Windsor and the Director of INCUBATOR Art Lab, founded in 2009. Willet is a leader in the Canadian bio-art community and works internationally as an artist and curator in the field.
