In this project, we explore biological and chemical methods to create materials for art and design. Biological materials based on the natural process and life science are beautiful, versatile, and ecological. The BioLab in the Ars Electronica Center is uniquely located next to the MaterialLab, a space for innovative experimentation with various materials. Biological materials combined with the latest material processing technologies will allow us to create objects in new and innovative ways. The project also aims to create a platform for the public to integrate biological methods to various aspects of creative expressions and experience new ways of creating their artwork and designs.
