Peter was one of the first members to join the Ars Electronica Futurelab during his studies of Industrial Design at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz. As a researcher in the Virtual Environments group he helped to create several projects in the field, among other the CAVE in the Ars Electronica Center. Peter has passed on his knowledge by teaching the course Virtual Reality for Industrial Design at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz. As an Industrial Designer his focus shifted slowly from the virtual to the physical world joining the Media Art and Architecture research team. Recent works mainly focus on artistic interventions in the semi-public space as well as design-related work on many projects.
Key Works
Composition of strands, strings, and tones in an imaginary space makes up a vivid real-time painting that artistically interprets the activities on a communication platform.
Networking hub for start-ups with a café where orders are distributed via novel Foodwall, including streams of data that form abstract patterns.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2021, the Futurelab presented its past and visions for the future with a book, videos, an exhibition and a Futurelab Day at the Ars Electronica Festival.
Virtual reality application bringing Max Reinhardt’s 1930s production of “Faust” back to life by recreating the stage design of the original production – the Fauststadt.
