Smart device for detecting hypo- or anosmia
Smell Check determines whether a person has completely or partially lost their sense of smell. For this purpose, the device combines electroencephalography (EEG/brainwave measurement) with a scent application.
Since the loss or reduction of the sense of smell is considered as an early warning symptom for neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s, these could be detected earlier, and therapies could be initiated in time. Also, the loss of smell can indicate certain viral diseases.
