IMPAKT Workshop: Face and body filters
Yun Lee and Jonathan Reus, from iii, instrumentinventors.org, The Hague (NL)
This second workshop is about VJ-ing and focuses on the creation of video backgrounds and other video effects to use in your performance. With the use of software like Zoom, OBS and Snap Camera, we can create our own virtual backgrounds, digital masks, video compilations and even perform live coding and VJ sets. IMPAKT [Centre for Media Culture], in collaboration with Ars Electronica and the European Media Art Platform (EMAP), organizes two workshops where you can familiarize yourself with these new tools and platforms and start using them to build your own online performance sets.

You are all invited to wear your most crazy digital or real masks and party with us. Because of the pandemic, we now live, meet, work, celebrate and breathe online, and the ZOOM virtual background and Snap Camera mask options have become the new way to give flavor to our digital existence.

Our bodies are being measured and analyzed, dissected and optimized. What are the limits of our self-knowledge? What is the actual essence of human life or where is it to be found? Must we or do we want to transcend the familiar limits of our bodies and enter into a post or transhuman age in order to have any future at all? The bodydatasphere reveals the data and secretions of our bodies.

How to Make an Ocean
Kasia Molga (UK/PL)
