Welcome to this special Artist Journey from the Disconnected Experiences Garden of Cuba. COPINCHA is a hackerspace located in Centro Habana. It is a self-managed and self-moderated community, interested in socializing solutions of common benefit through free and open uses of technologies. It fosters co-creative practices and community synergies from various digital spaces, including repositories and the wiki Copinchapedia. They are “pocket infrastructures” that take advantage of formal and informal avenues for content distribution, as an alternative to the costly and limited access to the Internet in Cuba.

Maurice Haedo Sanabria (Cuba, 1985): is an industrial designer. For six years he has brought values of reparability and adaptability to forklift spare parts. He has turned his house in Centro Habana into a laboratory, where knowledge and technological processes are integrated with coherence with the Cuban reality. He invites us to work in collaboration to reconfigure the national socio-technical imaginary as an alternative to traditional models.
