The Futurelab Day will be dedicated to discussing deep issues such as the climate crisis, migration and digital transformation. Alchemists of the Future – The Journey, an interactive and participatory exhibition format, will provide you with a multifaceted view on the future. Develop your own concepts for the future, get in touch with Artificial Intelligence, creative algorithms, Virtual Anatomy, collaborative robots, living ink, and far beyond. Embedded in an atmosphere of visualized sound and electric noise, the Futurelab Day is approaching an electrifying climax in Deep Space 8K, pointing the way to a potential future. With Alchemists of the Future, the Ars Electronica Festival presents a hybrid space that connects people to contribute to “A New Digital Deal”.

Bio Ink Experience

In nature, we co-exist and interact with many organisms. Working with them helps us better understand other beings and ourselves. Our Bio Ink research goes beyond digital and human-centric technologies by exploring the concept of living ink that grows freely, in a creative symbiosis with nature and other organisms. In the research, biological inks comprised of various microorganisms are created in the bio lab.

When 7,680 x 4,320 pixels along with multi-channel sound are transmitted live from PSNC’s labs in Poland to Deep Space 8K in Linz using a variety of cutting-edge technologies and prototype hardware and software, even the most experienced Ars Electronica Futurelab researchers’ excitement mounts. For the first time in history, international university teams will compete in two formulas: on-site and remotely.
