We live in the transitioning times. Circumstances-chosen or forced-require us to develop modes of living that are simultaneously adaptive, expansive, reverent, and joyful. To do this necessitates preparation, a careful attunement to dynamics otherwise obscured by grossly accumulative practices. In this workshop, through an attention to the deeper times that are intertwined with our daily lives, we will take some small steps that attempt a perturbation of our lives, that will ultimately help prepare us to become tranxxeno.
Part of the workshop will be spent walking around the festival site collecting some items and/or taking photos outdoors. If you can please bring a notepad or clipboard to write on. Participants may be filmed and photographed.
Adriana Knouf, PhD (US) works as an artist, writer, and xenologist. She engages with topics such as wet media, space art, satellites, radio transmission, non-human encounters, drone flight, queer and trans futurities, machine learning, the voice, and papermaking. She is the Founding Facilitator of the tranxxenolab, a nomadic artistic research laboratory that promotes entanglements among entities trans and xeno. Adriana regularly presents her artistic research around the world and beyond, including a work that has flown aboard the International Space Station.This project was supported by the Equal Treatment Officers of the City of Linz Group of Companies and the Municipal Equal Treatment Officer.
