patterns

Symmetry
Lee Sooyeun (KR)
An animation that considers the reflections of the media façade in the Danube. Simple shapes, sinus waves, mandala patterns that double in the water.

Chowndolo
Giacomo Lepri (IT)
The Chowndolo is an interactive sonic sculpture based on a magnetic pendulum: an oscillating stick whose trajectories are altered by magnets placed underneath the device.

(un)shaped
Takayuki Hirai (JP), Yasuaki Kakehi (JP)
This installation utilizes antibubbles in water as a medium. Through computationally controlled droplets, the antibubbles form various patterns on the water’s surface. Then they start to float in the water and disappear after a while. These periodic phenomena shows continuous morphing from computationally controlled forms to organic ones mediated by the environment.

I, HUMAN
SAINT MACHINE (RO)
I, HUMAN uses empathy as content to influence the feeding conditions of microorganisms, and light as content carrier. Developed around the idea of interconnectivity, it analyzes how individual interactions can produce collective outcomes at different scales. I, HUMAN is testing new models of synergistic behavior mediated by technology in an attempt to identify coherence patterns, a metaphor for our evolution as a species, which may depend on our capacity to empathize.

Proelium
Hakan Lidbo (SE)
*Proelium* is a board game with a space-folding board, developed for people with enhanced ability to see patterns.
