Artificial Intelligence and citizen science both aim to tackle large, complex data challenges—AI through advanced algorithms, and citizen science through the collective efforts of non-experts applying human intelligence. As AI increasingly supports or mimics human decision-making, interest is growing in how it can boost citizen science—and how citizen participation can shape AI in return.
