Over the past decade, initiatives like STARTS have fostered a dynamic landscape across Europe where art, science, and technology intersect. Efforts were put in launching cross-sector collaborations, enabling residencies, and opening spaces for dialogue on creativity and innovation. In light of shifting EU policies and rapid societal and technological changes, we invite the stakeholders who are involved in organizing and facilitating the programs at the intersection of arts, science, and technology to consider ways in which the field can be strengthened. The meeting focuses on strengthening the ecosystem built on ASTS networks, mapping resources, sharing challenges, and shaping common frameworks for residencies, exchange, and public engagement.

Laura Welzenbach
Laura Welzenbach produces and directs visionary art projects at the intersection of technology, society, and politics. She is a strategic planner whose current superpower is a deep passion for generating social impact through art and public engagement. As Head of Ars Electronica Export, Laura creates experiences that connect art and science. These international collaborations take shape in the form of exhibitions, workshops, and art-science residencies. Previously, she directed the artist residency program at Eyebeam in New York (2014–2017) and served as Executive Manager of the sound:frame festival in Vienna (2010–2013). She has collaborated with institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum, the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada, and the MAK – Museum of Applied Arts, MuseumsQuartier (MQ), and Künstlerhaus (K/haus) in Vienna.
