On June 18, 2024, the largest event for the Austrian export industry took place once again: the Export Day of the WKO, organized by AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA. For the 22nd time, leading figures from politics, business, and science gathered to share the latest information, insights, and trends from around the world. Under the motto “BEYOND THE BOX,” the event provided an exciting platform for the approximately 3,000 visitors to learn about export, internationalization, geopolitics, and current trends and innovations.
A special highlight of the Export Day was the “Innovation Jungle,” designed as the innovation space of the event. This specially designed area offered participants insights into future technologies and global developments. Visitors could learn about pioneering topics such as “Technologies That Change the World,” “The Future of Work,” and “The Future of Mobility,” as well as discover the innovation services of the WKO. Ars Electronica Solutions played a crucial role in the Innovation Jungle, presenting both past and current projects. A particularly noteworthy station was dedicated to the brain project “GlobalShift,” which connects scientific research, human well-being, and climate change. This innovative installation organizes images in the context of climate change based on the analyzed subconscious reactions of participants’ brainwaves to these images and visualizes this in a dynamic illustration.
The evening before Export Day was dedicated to honoring Austria’s export stars in a festive setting. Among the invited guests was Michael Mondria, Managing Director of Ars Electronica Solutions. As a former export award winner, he had the special opportunity to network with other awardees and congratulate the new winners.
