An installation created as part of a group project in the Interactive Information Design masters at the Muthesius University of Fine Arts in Kiel, Germany.
How scientific is the fairytale idea of communication between trees? Immerse yourself on a journey into the forest and get to know your surroundings from a completely different perspective afterwards. It begins here in DeepSpace, where we approach the hidden communication between the trees, and ends with your next real nature walk, where with your new knowledge you will surely see the forest with different eyes.
We are a small group of design students at the Muthesius University of Fine Arts in Kiel, Germany. We all come from different disciplines such as interactive information design, spatial strategies, interface design and medical design and teamed up for this project. Our journey began in April 2023, where we started to explore all about the forest and its means of communication. We decided this topic needed more attention and enlightenment with an experimental approach.
Please note: Limited capacity, registration required – in addition to a valid ticket, you need a (free) ticket reservation for the respective event in advance. Reservations for Deep Space 8K events must be scanned on-site no later than 15min before the programme starts.

We would like to thank our professor and mentor Tom Duscher, who initiated this collaboration, for the constant support, exchange and understanding. We owe the fact that this project came about at all to your commitment and your support. Also, a big thank you to Christian Engler, who was always at our side with technical questions and was an important help with his expert knowledge.
