Biografie

Horst Hörtner ist ein Medienkünstler und Forscher. Er ist Experte für die Gestaltung von Mensch-Computer-Interaktion und hält mehrere Patente in diesem Bereich. Er begann in den 1980er-Jahren im Bereich der Medienkunst zu arbeiten und war 1990 Mitbegründer der Medienkunstgruppe x-space in Graz/Österreich. Hörtner ist Gründungsmitglied des Ars Electronica Futurelab, das 1996 ins Leben gerufen wurde, und seither Managing Director des Labors. Seit 2020 ist er auch CTO von Ars Electronica und hat seit 2013 einen Lehrauftrag an der University of Newcastle/Australien inne. Er arbeitet an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und Wissenschaft und hält Vorträge auf zahlreichen internationalen Konferenzen und an Universitäten.
