The crane vehicle is made of LEGO Technic components. It travels on four tracks driven by four motors – all remote controlled. For this purpose, not only motors, but also batteries, cables and receivers for remote control are built into the vehicle. There are also three extra motors: one for the linear drive that moves the crane up and down, and two for the winch that can be used to lift loads.

The many different LEGO Technic components in his Lego box open up many possibilities for Leopold. He got a few extra Lego motors and chains from his dad, and off he went to build this crane vehicle. He didn’t really have an exact idea yet, he just knew that it should be a remote-controlled crane vehicle on four tracks! First he built chassis 1 and then chassis 2, then came the crane and the winch, and finally the driver’s cab. Cranes have interested Leopold for a long time – hence a crane vehicle. The young artist learned how the chains, the linear drive and the winch work from his dad when they played Lego together.

Kranfahrzeug auf vier Ketten – LEGO Technic received the Young Creatives Honorary Mention in the u10-create your world category at the Prix Ars Electronica 2021.
