The Click is an animatic short film that takes up various current social debates such as gender roles, parent-child relationships, adoption ethics and racism and processes them both humorously and critically.

A woman orders a child via app. She makes a precise pre-selection as to which characteristics and interests the child should have. However, the delivered girl is completely different from the one the mother had designed for her desired daughter – and any attempts to change the child fail. At first, no close relationship seems to develop between the two – until it saves the mother’s life that her daughter prefers to invent machines instead of dancing ballet and playing with dolls.

The Click was awarded a Young Professionals Honorary Mention in the u19-create your world category at the Prix Ars Electronica 2021.

Julia Scheiwein (*2002), Zara Dineva (*2002), Anna Zoglauer (*2002) and Caroline Bär (*2002) attend together the 4th grade Multimedia at the Höhere Graphische Bundes- Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Vienna.
