The goal of this workshop is to provide participants with a deeper, broader and practical understanding of responsibility as a relational and contextual concept by looking at the impacts (positive and negative) that different types of AI systems are having in society and the environment and ways to assess them through a collective decision-making simulation framed in the ongoing context of the climate emergency.
Participants will get an overview of different responsible AI frameworks (from indigenous to EU-policy perspectives) and work in groups to discuss and try different approaches to assess risks and benefits of using AI systems, using scenario planning (and other creative foresight tools) to explore how the would address specific situations and try to reach consensus on key recommendation for a potential climate action plan for the new university.
