Chiao-Chi Chou is both an artist and an interdisciplinary researcher. Chou
specialises in using living species to create art installations. The distinctive aspect of
is the reduction of theoretical description and the creation of practical experiences for practical experience for the viewer. The discourses on the „human-nature“ relationship can be ignited by what the spectators perceive sensually and bodily.
Chou collaborates with artist Youyang Hu. They developed a series called „Lichtung“ which revolves around the difference between the physical universe and human sensory limitations. This series seeks to explore the transmission of „energy“ between matter and organisms, and it is an exploratory journey across the subject-object relationship and an experience of rediscovering objects.
