Creative Collision Talk @ Transformation Lounge invites two artistic activists to explore the source of creativity that actively transforms society. Can the arts, data science and democratic participation revive social, ecological and economic equities in our urban spaces? With the winner of the Diversity & Collaboration Award of the European Union Prize for Citizen Science, Urban Belonging project, and the participants of the STARTS Prize cross-fertilization program, 300.000 Km/s, we will discuss new ways of urban planning that consider what social sustainability looks like and whose experience and voices count.

Sofie Burgos-Thorsen (DK)
Sofie Burgos-Thorsen (DK) is an industrial PhD at Gehl architects and TantLab (Aalborg University). She is driven by innovating digitally powered visual methods, and experimenting with how they allow planners and scholars to generate more diverse insights into people’s lived experiences in cities; through the eyes of the citizens. Sofie is excited that the Urban Belonging project uses these visual methods to flip the script on sometimes extractive and exclusive engagement with a process that is fully participatory.
Anders Koed Madsen (DK)
Anders Koed Madsen (DK) is an associate professor at Aalborg University where he serves as head of experimental practice at TANTLab. He is interested in the ways public spaces feel welcoming to certain groups and not others, and in the ways different forms of urban diversity may potentially counteract each other.
Ana Badenas (ES)
Ana Badenas (ES) is part of the 300.000 Km/s team, an urban planning agency founded in Barcelona aimed at making cities the most livable places on the planet. We are a team of architects, urban planners, data scientists and programmers who explore the potentials of big data and new computing paradigms to improve urban analysis, strategic planning and decision-making.
