Eine Zusammenarbeit mit der Botschaft von Spanien in Wien
Mithilfe von Gigapixel-Technologie werden zwei wichtige Werke aus der Sammlung des Museo Reina Sofía analysiert: Pablo Picassos Frau in Blau (1901) und Eine Welt (1929) der Künstlerin Ángeles Santos. Eine Videopräsentation untersucht den kulturellen Kontext, in dem beide im Alter von unter zwanzig Jahren diese Meisterwerke schufen. Beleuchtet werden darin außerdem das spätere Schicksal und der Werdegang von Picasso und Santos, die–grundlegend von Genderrollenbildern geprägt–nicht unterschiedlicher hätten sein können.
Das künstlerische Genie von Pablo Picasso hatte enormen Einfluss auf die Entwicklung der modernen und zeitgenössischen Kunst. 1881 in Spanien geboren, revolutionierte er im Laufe seines Lebens mit jeder neuen Periode seines künstlerischen Schaffens die Kunstwelt und hinterließ über 20.000 Gemälde, Zeichnungen, Drucke, Keramiken, Skulpturen und Gedichte.
Ángeles Santos Torroella (1911–2013) begann bereits in jungen Jahren damit, künstlerisch aktiv zu sein und malte ihre radikalen Meisterwerke bereits mit 18 Jahren. Ihr Stil veränderte sich durch eine künstlerische Krise zu einer sanfteren und traditionelleren Bildsprache.

Olga Sevillano Pintado (ES)
Olga Sevillano Pintado holds a degree in Art History from the Autonomous University of Madrid, a diploma in Art Criticism from the Claves del Arte Foundation and an MA in Curatorship and Cultural Practices in Art and New Media from MECAD/ESDI and the Ramón Llull University of Barcelona. She has managed and coordinated numerous art and new technology events.
Since 2011 she has been in charge of the Museo Reina Sofía’s Digital Projects: coordinating, managing and developing the Museo’s website www.museoreinasofia.es/en, RSS radio station radio.museoreinasofia.es/en, and the web page guernica.museoreinasofia.es/en, the 2018 winner of the international Webby Award for best Cultural Institution site. Furthermore, since 2012 she has given talks and conducted workshops related to museums and their role in the digital world.
Raúl Martínez Arranz (ES)
Raúl Martínez Arranz holds a degree in Art History from the Autonomous University of Madrid, an MA in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Complutense University and the Museo Reina Sofía and an MA in Museum Studies from the New York University thanks to a Fulbright Scholarship.
He has been a curator since 2006, first at Patrimonio Nacional and currently at the Museo Reina Sofía where he oversees the collection of paintings and drawings until 1939. He has also contributed to several publications on different aspects of the History of Art.
