Roland Haring studierte Medientechnik und -design an der Fachhochschule Hagenberg. Seit 2003 ist er Mitglied des Ars Electronica Futurelab und eine der treibenden Kräfte hinter der Forschung und Entwicklung im Labor. Seine Aktivitäten umfassen mehrere große F&E-Projekte mit akademischen, künstlerischen und kommerziellen Partner*innen.
Derzeit ist Roland Haring Technical Director des Ars Electronica Futurelab und mitverantwortlich für das allgemeine Management, die inhaltliche Konzeption und die technische Entwicklung. Mit seiner langjährigen Erfahrung im (software-)technischen Management großer, forschungsintensiver Projekte ist er ein Experte für Design, Architektur und Entwicklung interaktiver Anwendungen.
