roadLAB – Mobiler Maker*Space des Technischen Museum Wien

Technisches Museum Wien (AT)

| | |

The Technical Museum Vienna goes mobile. The roadLAB is a fully equipped Maker*Space with 3D printers, laser cutter, sewing machine, laptops, own WIFI and much more. Visitors can focus on tinkering, designing and creating. A team of explainers with different backgrounds will be available for additional support in operating the machines and in the creative process.

In keeping with this year’s festival theme Welcome to Planet B. Another World is Possible! But how?, visitors to roadLAB are invited to use the MakerSpace to familiarize themselves with innovative technologies and use digital production techniques to realize their own ideas.

At the interface between the past and the future, the Technical Museum Vienna invites visitors to discover, experience and reflect on various areas of technology and their impact on our society and our planet. The museum’s goal is to encourage and empower its visitors – especially children and young people – to actively shape tomorrow’s developments. With a wide range of educational programs – in-house, online and mobile – the museum aims to foster future-oriented skills and enthusiasm for STEM fields, but also to provide a platform for critical reflection and visionary development strategies.

The roadLAB is an initiative of the Vienna Museum of Technology and is funded by the digitization offensive of the Federal Chamber of Labour.
