Seeds from Barcelona’s Gardens for a Planet B

Only collaborative practices, based on the transversal sharing of knowledge and efforts, can allow us to generate proposals that lead to a project for a sustainable world. As a result of the collaborative practices that characterize Catalan innovation, the Institut Ramon Llull, in collaboration with the .NewArt { foundation;} and Hac Te, presents a survey of the current state of creativity in Catalonia linked to Art at its intersection with Science and Technology.

The six artworks in this exhibition are the outcome of different initiatives such as the 2020 and 2021 Ars Electronica Garden Barcelona, the grant programs convened by ISEA2022 Barcelona and the .NewArt { foundation;}, as well as interdisciplinary research projects developed by Hac Te, the new hub of Art, Science and Technology in Barcelona.

Biography

The Institut Ramon Llull is a public body founded with the purpose of promoting Catalan language studies at universities abroad, the translation of literature and thought written in Catalan, and Catalan cultural production in other areas like theatre, film, circus, dance, music, the visual arts, design, and architecture.

Explore and develop intersections between art, science and technology to boost the digital transformation of society: this is the aim of Hac Te (Art, Science and Technology Hub), promoted by Catalan institutions of great relevance to make Barcelona a global centre for research, training, dissemination, transfer and production in this field.

The .NewArt { foundation;} mission is to help the artistic community position new scientific, technical and conceptual formulas in Art, to make them known and to educate society, enabling it to appreciate Art at its intersection with Science and Technology as an expression of the most forward looking ideas.
