Manthia Diawaras neuste Dokumentation präsentiert sich als Brief an die Zuseher*innen. In A Letter from Yene ist der Filmemacher nicht nur Erzähler, sondern auch der Besitzer eines der Häuser am Strand von Yene. Nach Begegnungen mit Fischer*innen, Steinesammler*innen und sich selbst untersucht Diawara, wie ihre sich überschneidenden Leben kollektiv und unbewusst zur Unterwanderung ihres gemeinsamen Lebensraums beitragen.
