Das Ars Electronica Center bietet seinen Besucher*innen etwas, was es sonst nirgendwo auf der Welt gibt: 16 x 9 Meter Wand- und weitere 16 x 9 Meter Bodenprojektion, Laser-Tracking und 3D-Animationen machen den Deep Space 8K zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Darüber hinaus bietet Deep Space 8K eine anspruchsvolle Infrastruktur für Medienkünstler*innen. Sobald sie bestehende Werke adaptieren und vor allem Installationen entwerfen, die speziell auf diesen Raum zugeschnitten sind, betreten sie künstlerische Terra incognita. Die Position der Besucher*innen inmitten der Projektionsfläche und ihre Partizipation erfordern eine durchdachte ästhetische Komposition und Konzepte für die daraus resultierende Dynamik.
