Mozilla Hubs

Mit Mozilla Hubs, einem Open-Source-Projekt von Mozilla, das es jedem ermöglicht, virtuelle Räume zu erstellen und zu gestalten, stellen wir dem Online-Festival ein weiteres leistungsstarkes Werkzeug vor, das untersucht, wie Kommunikation in einer gemischten Realität zum Leben erweckt werden kann. Dieses Jahr wurden mehr als 60 Mozilla Hubs mit einer Vielzahl von Inhalten von Ars Electronica und ihren Partnergärten weltweit geschaffen, die sie von 9. bis 13. September 2020 besuchen können. Alles, was Sie dazu brauchen, ist ein aktueller Internet-Browser auf ihrem Computer oder Smartphone. Wenn Sie Ihre Lautsprecher und Ihr Mikrofon aktivieren, können Sie sich auch mit anderen BesucherInnen unterhalten. Eine Virtual-Reality-Brille ist kein Muss, aber intensiviert Ihr Erlebnis um eine weitere Stufe. In einem virtuellen Raum können sich maximal 25 BesucherInnen aufhalten – wenn diese Zahl überschritten wird, öffnet sich ein weiterer Klon des Raums für die nächsten 25. Biographies

Mozilla Hubs Team:

Roman Senkl (Creative Lead & Direction) is a Dortmund and Berlin-based writer, dramaturg and director. His work focuses heavily on hybrid and (post)digital theatre and technology. He worked as a dramaturg at Schauspiel Dortmund (2018-2020) and the Academy for Theatre and Digitality. He co-founded the art collectives onlinetheater.live, Digitale Dramaturgie, Initiative Interface, minuseins and „Die Plattform Graz“.

Nils Corte (Tech Lead & Coding) is a Berlin-based programmer, author and producer of theater plays. His artistic focus lies on the visualisation and utilisation of virtual reality in performance contexts. He developed the award winning multilayer visualisation software Pepper’s Holosuite and recently wrote and produced the holographic theatre play Murder on the Holodeck (2019).

Together, they work as realityFix aka minuseins – a Berlin and Dortmund-Based digital theatre and arts project with a strong focus in innovative technologies and interactive storytelling. Together they research, develop and produce mixed and virtual reality theatre, interactive software and (post)digital media arts.
Currently they are researching new ways of interaction and visualization at the intersection of hybrid spaces, between offline and virtual reality, at the Academy for Theatre and Digitality in Dortmund. In Cooperation with Nils Gallist (3D Design / Animation), Armin Luschin (Coding / Cloud Administration), David Seul (3D Design / Animation), The Talking Animals Collective (3D Design / Animation), Max Schweder (Audio Reactive Visuals) and Harald Günther Kainer (Sound / FX) they created and present Kepler’s Virtual Gardens – Ars Electronicas version of mozilla hubs social vr platform.

Armin Luschin Tech-loving business graduate, serial-entrepreneur. Education : Business & Economics, Undergrad studies @ University of Innsbruck/ HU Berlin 2005-2010, Grad studies @ University of Vienna / NOVA Lisboa 2012-2013. Experience: Co-founder social achievement platform “Daily Challenge” 2011-2012. Product Manager Infernum 2013-2014. Founder local discovery app “Kaiku” 2014-2016. David Seul (3D Design), born in Andernach, is a Visual Effects Artist and Colorist. He works in automotive commercials, feature films, animated movies, music videos, art exhibitions and VR experiences. He studied filmmaking at University of Applied Arts and Sciences Dortmund, where he learned how to craft images that drive a story.

Talking Animals Animation Collective (3D Design) are a collective of award-winning animation filmmakers, united as Talking Animals since 2009. They produce short films, music videos, animated documentaries, animation for advertisement, explanatory movies. Their styles range from artistic 3D, over cutout and 2D drawn animation to analogue stop motion under the camera.
Max Schweder (Audio reactive 3D Animation) is a musician, perfomer and visual artist. As a fellow the Academy for Theatre and Digitality in Dortmund, he recently researched sound visualisations as a means of accessibility for performances in the development environment Unity.

Harald Günter Kainer (Sound Design) – sound-artist, musician; studied with Clemens Gadenstätter and Marko Ciciliani at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz (AT); focused on creating electronic music, video and installation art; as a musician active in music groups and as a solo performer; haraldguenterkainer.net
